In the Gloaming

In the Gloaming is a short comedy-horror anthology, created by the talented Mr. Nathaniel Tapley and produced by Raoul Brand. The show sadly only ran for 4 episodes before other projects got in the way effectively placing ItG on an extended Hiatus that has lasted several years so far. Will more episodes ever be created? Hard to say for sure, but if pushed I would venture that sadly the answer is probably no.

That is indeed sad because In the Gloaming is immense fun and of a very high quality indeed. The writing is of a very high quality the acting is top notch and the comic timing is near perfect. Not surprising really since the entire team were accomplished actors and comedians before coming together to create the four episodes of what I consider to be one of he funniest and best horror-comedies available.

One of my personal favourite episodes has to be 'The Night Wisperer' in which a ghost (Voiced by Ruth Bratt of 'Mongrels' fame) haunts a family over Christmas.

The show is introduced by Nathaniel Tapley in character as a strange and terrifying narrator in the tradition of the 'Crypt Keeper' or 'The Strange Dr. Weird'. In this roll Tapley manages to be both immensely funny and immensely disturbing at the same time. In fact, the same can be said about the episodes as a whole. Each will leave you feeling thoroughly entertained, amused and just a little creeped out.

The production and sound quality of the episodes is of an incredibly high standard and is likely to put you in mind of various BBC productions.

I must admit to being a huge fan of In the Gloaming and I hope that you will be to.
