Tales From Beyond
A Darkened Sky
Hear the Fear

I approached Campfire Radio Theater fairly early on in Tales From Beyond A Darkened Sky's life (or undeath?), after hearing 'Night Chills' and 'Demon Eyes'. John Ballentine's anthology series really sends the chills up your spine, and no mistake.
Because it's an anthology it really doesn't matter what order you listen to the episodes in, but I would recommend not listening to them when you are in the house alone at night.
Everything about the series enhances the listening experience, from the voice acting and the direction to the sound quality and scripting. The Narrator's introduction sets the tone right from the beginning and is on a par with the iconic introductions of the golden age of radio such as 'The Strange Doctor Weird' and 'Lights Out'.
Speaking of 'Lights Out' don't forget to check out Campfire Radio Theater's remake of 'The Haunted Cell'.
It's difficult to pick a few stand out episodes of this excellent anthology series, as I love most of them but if I was put on the spot I think I'd select 'The Twilight Road', which I can highly recommend. In fact it is one of several Audio Drama stories I find myself coming back to time and time again. The performances, always excellent in Campfire Radio Theater, seem so understatedly creepy in this episode that even when listening to it in broad daylight I find the hair on the back of my neck standing up. If you are looking for just one play to fill in a journey make it this one.
If you have more time though, I would council you to make sure you also listen to 'Demon Eyes', and 'Hungry Hollow'. By the time you have heard these you will need no further convincing to listen to every other episode of this excellent series.
