19 Nocturne Boulevard

19 Nocturne Boulevard is an anthology series - half hour stories, ranging from horror to sci-fi, from fantasy to dark social commentary and from humour to nothing funny about it...

Since its debut in October of 2008, 19Noc came out twice monthly for several years before going into an extended Hiatus. Several episodes won awards, including the Mark Time Award in 2008 and 2009 for episodes entitles 'The Outpost' and 'The Rookie' respectively.

 

Recently Julie at 19NB announced her intention to bring the show back, this time supported by a Patreon campaign! which you can support HERE!

 

The majority of the tales are stand alone stories but there are a few which tie together (The B&B Investigators episodes for example, or the Lovecraft 5 tales).

 

19 NB is best described as speculative fiction as they cover a wide range of genres, most commonly Horror or SF but there are other genres covered as well. Some stories are whimsical, others deadly serious, most sit somewhere between those two poles. Naturally, this means not every episode will appeal to every listener but you will find a great many to your tastes. For me, 19NBs blend of humour, speculative fiction, good sound quality and for the most part good acting (occasionally some of the accents can be a little off, other times they are spot on) has kept me coming back to these tales time and time again.

 

'Wax houses', 'The Thing on the Doorstep', 'From an Amber Block', 'The Rookie', 'The Rats in the Walls', 'Splinters of the Gate', 'SNAFU', 'A Stitch in Time', 'Cautionary Tale', 'Idiot Box' and 'The Wrong Bob' are all numbered among my favourites and provide a reasonably good cross section of the type of stories you will find when you step through the door of '19 Nocturne Boulevard'.
